Description
Euonymus Jean Hugues Instant Hedge in a trough
Euonymous Jean Hugues is a dense, compact shrub with lovely evergreen foliage.
Prefers a sunny, partial shade, moist-normal soil, sheltered or exposed, inland or coastal.
It is well suited to garden borders and hedging and is tipped to be the new favourite alternative for Box hedging where Buxus may be susceptible to box blight.
Euonymus Jean Hugues form dark forest green leaves that are held very close to the main stems. They are oval with small serrations. The new leaves are fresh green in colour which fade down to a dark forest green.
If left unpruned, it will produce white, fragrant, four-petaled flowers. The Flowers can be followed by a small pink berries but this is not very obvious and regular trimming will reduce this occurring.
