The Japanese Privet is ideal to be used as a tall hardy evergreen screen by planting clear trunked standards close together producing a stilted hedge above the fence line.

It is a cheap alternative to pleaching to create the same effect.
 

Often used, and a favourite in urban courtyard gardens.
 

A medium semi-evergreen tree, it is generally regarded as an evergreen in the south of England.
 

It has a rounded habit, long, pointed leaves and white flowers, which are borne in autumn.
 

Very good in restricted areas.
