Ornamental Citrus Plants - The Ultimate Guide to Citrus Plants

This invaluable guide book is divided into two separate but complementary parts: practical suggestions for care of the plants and a scientific and historical examination of the many species and cultivars.

The authors, Giorgio and Sergio Tintori, own the Oscar Tinori nurseries in Pescia, a few kilometres from the Pistioia. Here they produce outstanding specimens of citrus plants using traditional criteria and advanced technology, thanks to constant research into old and new cultivars, to meet the requirements of an extensive and well-informed client base in Italy and many other countries in central and northern Europe.

The Tintoris personally edited the first part of the book in order to allow others to benefit from their long experience in citrus plant cultivation, using simple clear language.

The second part of the book, which illustrates species and varieties and is enriched with many photographs and historical prints, was entrusted to Paolo Galeotti, curator of the Medici garden at Villa di Castello near Florence. Information about the botanical features, origins and “fortunes” of each citrus variety is accompanied by an interesting and well-researched bibliography, beginning with early documentation of citrus fruits in 17th century botanical volumes.
